A few days ago, I watched ABC News, when the US president revealed a new immigration initiative that offers citizenship to couples who have lived in the country for ten years or longer. They have been providing for their families, paying taxes, sending their children to school and church, and making contributions to our nation. These families have lived here for 23 years on average. They have been here for a long time, but they still live in dread and uncertainty. With today's announcement, we can make that difference.
